Construction Project Field Superintendent

About the Position:

Growing CT based Construction Manager/General Contractor is looking for an experienced Project Field Superintendent to oversee commercial, retail, medical and multi-unit housing projects in Connecticut.

All applicants should have a minimum of 5-7 years verifiable field superintendent experience.  Must possess a solid foundation of technical knowledge and analytical business management skills. Individual must be self-motivated, ambitious, problem solver/team player, able to prioritize and multi-task while maintaining excellent communication and organizational skills at all times.

Applicants must be diverse to oversee a variety of projects from tenant fit outs, renovations, and ground-up new construction.

Project Superintendent – assist with the responsibility for overseeing, managing and executing all tasks associated with assigned projects from project inception through completion and Certificate of Occupancy.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist the Project Manager in contract scopes, contract administration, change order verification and value engineering investigations and recommendations.
  • Planning:  Written workflow, sequencing and logistics plan
  • Itemized project schedule prepared in MS Project
  • Operational Oversight:  Establish relationships and controls with subcontractors and vendors
  • Conduct weekly foreman’s meetings to coordinate the work, update the schedule and act on the issues at hand
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings.  Enforce OSHA regulations and common-sense safety measures at all times
  • Attend meetings when requested by the Project Manager
  • Personally supervise the work. 
  • Control Quality:  Stop the work and take corrective action when poor quality workmanship is observed or anticipated.  Ensure only specified, or otherwise approved, materials and equipment are used
  • Control Schedule:  Take corrective action when off schedule performance is anticipated or encountered.  Update schedule weekly, or more often if the situation calls for it
  • Prepare daily job reports, with photos, in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager on a daily basis
  • Represent the company to architects, engineers, owners, vendors, and municipal agencies as required.
  • Ability to fully comprehend construction contract documents and details along with a solid understanding of construction principles and techniques.
  • Ensure that projects are completed according to specifications, on schedule and within budget.

Education/Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in this position with project costs ranging in size of $250K to $3M.
  • Microsoft Outlook, Project, Word and Excel
  • OSHA 10 Required, OSHA 30 Certification Preferred
  • Procore Experience a plus

Construction Estimator (Full Time)

 

Located in Plainville, Connecticut, Construction Resources LLC (CORE) is a construction company serving Connecticut and the Northeast.  CORE provides General Contracting, Construction Management and Design-Build services to multi-family residential, retail, medical and corporate clients.


The Estimator provides conceptual and preliminary estimating and hard-dollar bidding. The Estimator provides or coordinates full estimating services as assigned on all types and sizes of work with all types of delivery methods including hard bid, negotiated bid, design/build.

  • Participate in and/or attends pre-bid meetings, bid strategy meetings, and presentations
  • Analyze and review construction documents:  plans, addendums, specifications
  • Prepare, review, coordinate and execute proposals in accordance with guidelines
  • Perform quantity take-offs and pricing of construction work, in required CSI formats
  • Develop preliminary construction schedules based on the information provided in the contract documents
  • Prepare quantity take-offs from field visits including photo documentation
  • Solicit subcontractors/vendors for pricing for all trade disciplines, prepare bid packages including detailed scopes of work
  • Manage bid compilation and review proposals from subcontractors/vendors to ensure accuracy
  • Identify value-engineering alternatives
  • Identify constructability issues through the estimating process
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work hands on and independently, along with working as part of the Estimating/Project Management team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or Engineering
  • Five (5+) years of construction estimating experience
  • Proven skills in: Math, writing, and computer programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Project, and familiar with PlanHub, One Team and Procore
